Bethesda Announces Console Updates For Doom 1 & 2

Bethesda announced in a Livestream on the 26th anniversary of the “Doom” series that the console versions of “Doom” and “Doom 2” (on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch) will receive new updates.

In addition to a 60 FPS lock and new options for the aspect ratio, you can look forward to mods/add-ons.

To start the support, for example, “Sigil” is provided, which was developed by John Romero himself. Furthermore, “TnT: Evilution” and “The Plutonia Experiment” are offered free of charge.

These two variants were released in 1996 as the “Final Doom”. Even the “No Rest for the Living” extension will appear for “Doom 2”. Unfortunately, release notes were not made.
