For Honor Gets Dedicated PC Server As Confirmed By Ubisoft

Ubisoft will soon be launching the dedicated server for the PC version of “For Honor”. The Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 will follow later.

Ubisoft announced today that the dedicated server infrastructure for all PC players of “For Honor” on February 19, 2018 will be put into operation. After the introduction on the PC, however, the servers will soon be unlocked for the consoles. The exact release dates will be announced. The dedicated servers will be introduced as part of a major update to the fifth “For Honor” season. The “Season 5: Age of Wolves” begins on February 15, 2018.

The publisher said: “The introduction of the dedicated server structure was announced as part of Ubisoft’s continued support for For Honor, and after a successful test that allowed the team to gather enough data for the live release, the development teams are now ready to release the dedicated server for all PC players. ”

It adds: “Initially, the dedicated servers will be targeted for PvP modes, and the implementation will completely remove session migrations and NAT requests, as well as prevent the bulk of re-syncing for a more robust connection and improved matchmaking The development teams will closely monitor the situation to ensure a smooth transition for PC players before the new console infrastructure is introduced. ”

“It has been a challenge for us to change the online infrastructure while the game is live, but we see it as a crucial step in improving the gaming experience for our community,” said Damien Kieken, the Game Director. “The introduction of dedicated servers provides the necessary confidence in the direction of the game, laying the foundation for another year of continuous support and new content.”
