According to a recent rumor, DICE is working on a Battle Royale mode for Battlefield 5. Whether this will be available at launch, is not known.
A person from the environment of DICE, who of course wants to remain anonymous, told Venturebeat that the developers are currently testing a “Battle Royale” mode for “Battlefield 5”. They are considering what such a game variant might look like in the Battlefield universe. It is therefore intended to incorporate some variations.
The “Battle Royale” mode should still be in a prototype phase. So it’s quite possible that it will be released after the release of “Battlefield 5” with an update. However, it may as well be that Electronic Arts ceases the mode or publishes it in any other form.
Otherwise, the developers allegedly happy that “Call of Duty: Black Ops 4” could offer no single player campaign (is also just a rumor). This would give “Battlefield 5” a clear advantage. The shooter of DICE will have single-player content (probably war stories again). EA did not want to comment on the whole.
