Ubisoft Expands To Sweden And Hires Former Battlefield Producer

Ubisoft is expanding its presence in Europe and has opened a new studio in Stockholm – Sweden for which there is prominent support. The studio is managed by the former Battlefield producer Patrick Bach.

As the publisher explains, the Ubisoft Stockholm teams together Massive Entertainment (The Division), the Ubisoft studio in Malmö, will work together to develop AAA titles, including the recently announced Avatar game. Ubisoft Stockholm is also beginning with the recruitment of new developers, which is expected to include 100 members as expected in the next two years.

I am thrilled to join the Ubisoft family, where I feel I can apply my experience in the video game industry in a new and different way. My goal was always to create the best possible experiences for the players. When I spoke with Ubisoft about what we value the most, it was clear that we shared the same passion: to promote the creativity of the team with that goal in mind, “ says Patrick Bach, Studio Manager of the Ubisoft Studios in Stockholm.

Both Ubisoft Stockholm, as well as Massive, are now advertising. Ubisoft is committed to creating a profound work environment that reflects the diversity of the player community in equal opportunities. Qualified candidates are considered for their employment without regard to their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

“Ubisoft Stockholm is the latest example of Ubisoft’s selective expansion in Europe and beyond, targeting the pools of high-quality potential carriers and further strengthening our local presence,” said Christine Burgess-Quémard, Executive Director of Ubisoft’s global studios. “We believe that Ubisoft Stockholm will be an important pillar of this expansion that will allow us to continue to attract the best talent in our industry.”
