Virtual Console Is Not Coming To Switch, Nintendo Says

NEVERTHELESS, CLASSIC IS NOT WAIVED

Unfortunately, there will be no Virtual Console for the Switch, as Nintendo has confirmed. A company spokesperson said, “There are currently no plans to merge classic games under the Virtual Console banner, as is the case with other Nintendo systems.” Nevertheless, you will not have to do without classic games, because Nintendo will offer other ways.

For example, anyone who subscribes to the new Switch Online service will receive a collection of classic NES games. It already includes 20 titles at the beginning and is regularly expanded. The launch will feature Balloon Fight, Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros. 3. Add to that Donkey Kong, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros., Soccer, Super Mario Bros., Tennis and many more.
